Advantages of new homes

Buying a new home can be a wonderful experience, especially for those used to moving into homes with unsightly carpets or wallpaper. In a new home, you won’t have to change the decorative touches of previous owners. Aesthetically, there are other advantages to new homes. They are made to look very bright, unlike many older homes, which may have darker interiors or smaller windows. Most new developments have sod lawns and wide streets, which add to the spacious, clean look.

New homes are also equipped with new appliances, new doorknobs and new tiles, just to name a few things, which can be easily replaced in comparison with their older counterparts. If you buy a new home, you’re also free of big problems for a few years because you will generally sign a warranty with the builder.

New construction in Annapolis

Annapolis was founded in 1649, but new houses are still being built. Three-bedroom town homes in the area can be found from $315,000 to about $630,000. Prices of new homes tend to be correspondent to the size. Four-bedroom new homes start at about $590,000 and can be found for as much as $1.03 million. Most of the time new homes such as these are larger than older versions. It is also difficult to use price estimations before you’ve looked at different neighborhoods because some new developments are priced from the low $400,000s, while others begin at $700,000.

When you’re looking for new homes in Annapolis, the range of prices and sizes is immense. You can search for a particular builder, a particular style or size, or a certain price to narrow the variety available.

Building your own new home

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development recommends those who are purchasing newly built homes do certain things before they make final decisions on building. Among these recommendations, HUD suggests you inspect the land before you purchase, have a thorough knowledge about the land and developer, understand your rights according to any contracts you will be asked to sign, ask a lot of questions, record everything in writing, and use basic common sense.

Remember, if you want to have your own home built from scratch, you have much more responsibility than if you buy a pre-built new home. Annapolis new homes come in countless styles and sizes, so make sure you know what you’re looking for in a new home before you go searching.
